» SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY - 3/5: Depending on the floor you start on or are on, the difficulty can change, however, the lack of supplies in the upper levels can pose as an obstacle;
» ENTROPY - 3/5: Rooms have a non-euclidean structure, floors go endlessly into the bottom and top, and many doors and windows lead to The Memory Sea;
» ANOMALIES - 3/5: Anomalies are commonly found in the lower levels, but Loners are an exception to this rule, and are a big threat to colonizing the level.
Level 14 is the 15th level of the Voidclusters.
» DESCRIPTION:
Level 14, known by names such as, "Dream Hotel", "The Hotel" or "The Infinite Hotel", is as its names imply, the interior of a hotel going endlessly up and down in floors. Looking down through any of these floors will just reveal more floors. Level 14's hallways, different from the floors of the level, are finite in size. Depending on the floor, the number of dormitories in the corridors will vary; however, it is noted that the number of doors never matches the number of rooms, and there will always be a surplus door that leads into The Memory Sea. Attempting to jump from one of Level 14's balconies will cause you to pass out and wake up hours later in a dormitory on the floor you jumped from.
Level 14's hallways and dormitories possess a carpet considered by many as "the comfiest carpet"; this carpet has been seen throughout the floors of the level taking many different appearances. No sightings of two floors having an identical carpet have been reported or confirmed.
Many wanderers describe having a déjà-vu feeling when traversing Level 14, as many claim that they have dreamed of Level 14 before ending up in the Voidclusters or while in Level 9. This is why the level is popularly associated with the nickname "Dream Hotel".
The further one goes into the deeper floors of Level 14, the more bare bones the appearance, quantity of supplies, anomaly count and dormitories are, with only the number of doors remaining the same1. When TVI Expedition #1342 arrived in floor 404, they reported no objects present, no entities confirmed and most importantly; only 4 out of the 96 doors lead into a dormitory, with the others leading into The Memory Sea. The lower floors of Level 14 are known to have the opposite effect; supplies and objects are more common, however, anomalies become much more common.
» THE DORMITORIES:
While the dormitories in Level 14 vary in quantity, their sizes have been studied and are described as non-euclidean, since many of the rooms present in Level 14 intersect between themselves due to their sizes being bigger than they should be. Some rooms in Level 14 are comparable in size to an average house. There have been rumors of a dormitory in Floor -66 having a staircase which leads into an upper floor, however, due to Floor -66's lack of explorations, this remains unconfirmed. Each room contains a bed, a light, a sofa or chair, and a window that leads into The Memory Sea.
» COMMUNITIES:
Society in Level 14 collapsed in November of 2021, and the former outposts and bases are now abandoned. Beware, as many of these can be infested with anomalies; if you're willing enough to risk it, there can be useful objects left behind by the former residents.
- TVI Outpost “The Lucid Dreamers”: Once had a number of 17 operatives stationed within, located on Floor 0. No supplies left behind.
- CCO Base “Somniatores”: Was the second main base of the CCO, with an estimated count of 40-60 operatives and 5 taskforces stationed within. Was responsible for the habitation of lower floors of Level 14 under Project Excidium. It was located on Floor -3. Plenty of supplies left behind, however, be careful, as many anomalies tend to lurk within it.
- EAW Stock Exchange: Was a trading "stock exchange" located on Floor 2, it had about 12 permanent traders and 10-27 transitory traders. No supplies left behind.
- The Residents: Not a specific group or association, but refers to the many dormitories left behind by the former wanderers that resided in Level 14. It is noted that at its peak, Level 14 housed 512 residents; the highest in Voidclusters history. These dormitories can be located from Floor -6 all the way to Floor 12. Many supplies and objects left behind.
Efforts have been made to try and recolonize Level 14, but finding someone willing to return or settle has proven difficult due to the infamous "November Collapse".
» ANOMALIES:
- Roamers can be found from Floor -9 to Floor 31.
- Lurkers can be found in rooms from any Floor below Floor -7.
- Reptans can be found in hallways from any Floor below Floor -10.
- Loners can be found in hallways from Floor -21 to Floor 40.
- Amalgamations were once reported in Floor -36, however this claim is unconfirmed.
» OBJECTS:
Depending on the floor and the room, the object and supply quantity varies. The rarest item in Level 14 is normal Oat Milk, since the most common variant of Oat Milk is mixed with Berry Coffee in the refrigerators. There are also rare findings of Bread?, but only on the negative floors. There can also be Not-so Gourmet Lobsters found in the tables or ovens of certain rooms.
» ENTRANCES:
- The main way of entering is through a wooden door in Level 0, which will leave you on Floor 0;
- Accidental no-clipping from Level 5 is a confirmed way of entering, but due to its rarity, it's not a recommended way to enter, since it will leave you on Floor -5;
- Unconfirmed ways of entering such as no-clipping from Level 10 or Level 11 could leave you on Floor 10 or 11;
- Entering a bedroom in Level 19 has a rare chance of leading you to Floor 19;
- Opening doors in Level 21 may take you to a random floor.
» EXITS:
- No-clipping can usually lead back into Level 10;
- Another way of exiting is through an elevator, which are rare to find, but when found can lead to Level 20 or Level 13;
- Going through a door in the higher floors or jumping into a window will lead into The Memory Sea.
