» SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY - 4/5: Level 5 is not safe, and poses as an obstacle to further exploration of the Voidclusters;
» ENTROPY -3/5: Low visibility, generally unstable, and collapsing buildings;
» ANOMALIES - 4/5: Moderate amount of anomalies and a high threat of contracting The Fever.
Level 5 is the 6th level of the Voidclusters.
» DESCRIPTION:
Level 5, also known as "The Foggy Cityscape" is a mountainous city, believed to be similar to the Ural Mountains, covered by a thick gray fog. Wanderers typically describe this level as unsettling and creepy, as well as considering it a major step-up from Level 4. Visibility is low due to the aforementioned gray fog, and travelers never know what’s lurking in it. In addition, Just being in this level puts yourself at risk of contracting The Fever due to the high amount of radioactivity present; avoid contact with as many objects as you can to reduce your risk.
The buildings are poorly built soviet-era highrise appartements making them highly unstable and prone to collapsing, which is the leading cause of most of the deaths in this level. Curiously, the buildings will only collapse if a traveler is around them, since no buildings have been seen collapsing on the distant fog. Oat Milk and other safe foods are extremely rare and contaminated in this level, making it crucial to leave this level before one goes insane or dies of The Fever.
The Lakes
When exploring the level by going downhill, one may encounter huge lakes covered by fog and surrounded by buildings. These are believed to be the most highly contaminated zone of Level 5, with radiation levels reaching 500 mSv. Not only is it highly contaminated, but Sufferers and Loners are mainly reported here. The only positive reported thing on these zones, is that none of the surrounding buildings collapse like they normally do. Please do not try to swim or drink water in the lakes as it is highly contaminated and infected by The Fever.
» COMMUNITIES:
- CCO Taskforce L5 "hazardous environment unit"
A small taskforce dedicated to killing Sufferers and Loners along the level to protect Ruined City. They tend to avoid the lakes.
- The Voidcluster Investigators base "Ruined City"
Despite the level harsh conditions, the collapsed buildings allowed the TVI to obtain building materials, using those they built "The Ruined City" the third most important TVI base, protected by the CCO. It is a frequent hub for wanderers that wanna delve into the deeper levels of Cluster 1, and most permanent members are willing to help wanderers exit the level. It contains a small store and storage rooms where non-contaminated supplies and objects can be traded for. If you're already a TVI member, you can join them and gain a daily ration of 1 bottle of Oat Milk and 2 loafs of bread. It has a population of 65 permanent researchers, and around 50-80 wanderers tend to enter it monthly.
- Trade State outpost "Foggy Storage"
A small outpost set-up by the Trade State, not far from the Ruined City base and close to a lake. They have a population of 10-20 and don't accept newcomers, but are willing to trade.
» ANOMALIES:
» ENTRANCES:
Break open a window in Level 4 to arrive here. Clipping in Level 13 or Level 3 can lead here. Wandering away from the memory in Level 22 leads here.
» EXITS:
Exiting Level 5 is possible, however most exits are accidental and it's unknown how they occur. The only other assured way of exiting is through clipping into the stairs of the buildings and ending up in Level 6.
